Gastown Pop‐Up Concept Combines Local Artwork with Luxury Apparel
KOKKO, Vancouver-based luxury retailer, announced the opening of its Gastown pop-‐up location on February 18. The grand opening coincides with the release of its collaboration with mastermind JAPAN – an iconic luxury brand that KOKKO has the exclusive rights to sell in Canada. After three years of departure from the fashion stage, the mastermind JAPAN label returned in 2015 and is the first of several KOKKO “moments”.
“It’s exciting to be the first to bring an internationally sought-‐after brand to Canada,” said Mason Wu, Co-Founder of KOKKO. “The first KOKKO moment will highlight our exclusive collaboration with mastermind JAPAN and will offer shoppers an interactive experience with the luxury brand and local artwork.”
The KOKKO moments are created around the idea of “chasing infinity in a definite space”, where a series of pop-‐up stores will present fashion followers with different themes. The concept that combines a curated gallery of artwork with luxury apparel brands is designed to offer much more than a shopping experience. KOKKO aims to introduce guests to a physical space that emulates the look and feel of the mastermind JAPAN brand. Both the curated art gallery and a digital graffiti wall from Tangible Interaction will encourage guests to interact with the brand, product and greater cause.
“KOKKO carefully curates luxury brands that aren’t offered by other Canadian retailers,” said Mason. “We’re excited to open up the temporary location to provide Vancouver shoppers with the latest in luxury apparel.”
